at Panamanian ports, there is soon to be a strike

A strike had been announced by the employees of tug operator Smit Panama, in order for them to start from eight o'clock in the morning, local time, on Monday, December 14.

Said to be in some discussions that would be about securing an agreement with all of its employees, is Smit Panama, and they are scheduled to so so as soon as possible.

This strike is not slated to affect Panama Canal transits in any way, on the bright side, as the Panama Canal Authority, Autoridad del Canal de Panama, owns and operates its own tug fleet.
