Around the world powerboat race kicks off

The bid to break the world record for circumnavigating the globe in a powerboat, using only renewable fuels, started today. Known as Earthrace, the first leg takes competitors from Barbados to Panama, a distance of 1250 nautical miles.

Moving an Airbus through the Panama Canal

The Panama Canal is wide enought to accommodate the extra-wide body of the massive Airbus A380 Superjumbo, the largest non-military passenger and cargo jet ever constructed. This allows the company to move it's airliners by sea freight when required, from between the Atlantic and Pacific oceans.

Retiring to Panama: watching the bananas grow.

Why would expats rather flock to Panama than to a comfortable American condo in Florida? Low housing & living costs, coupled with a stable political environment, relatively safe streets and that great tropical climate, make it a much more sensible proposition than grinding away for several more years to scrape together enough money for a condo on the Florida coast.
