Three Day Festival Started Today

Evangelist Frankin Graham begins an ambitious preaching schedule this year with a three-day festival in Panama. For the first time Graham is holding his festival in the Central American country. Graham has the support of 747 churches and plans to preach gospel for three nights at the National Stadium.

Domesticated Plants Grown 7800 Years Ago

Research by a University of Calgary archaeologist has discovered that farming started in Panama long before it had been originally thought. In fact Plants like Maize, Manioc and Arrowroot were used as far back as 7,800 years ago.

President of Panama Martin Torrijos visited Washington visit with Congress and President Bush and to promote the newly negotiated Free Trade Agreement between Panama and the United States. Torrijos also unveiled a new tourism map of Panama designed by National Geographic.

Vendor's Angry About Carnival

Now that the Carnival has ended the vendors are bringing their woes to the press. With the President and Vice-President out of the country during carnival the promises of moving the party to Transistmica was broken. This meant vendors were in the same, if not worse, position as previous years.

Journalists Take To Streets

Journalist's politics have been a cause to be fired from their jobs and some even fired other journalists over politics. Now they are joining together and taking to the streets in protest of a major press bribery scandal arising from the referendum last year.

Fee Cuts at Suez Canal

During the expansion process of the Panama Canal its rival the Suez Canal, which is the world's busiest waterway,is offering a transit fee discount to divert Asia to U.S. Pacific Ocean trade in order to boost trade before its rival completes the expansion.
