Attack 25 Years Ago Still Haunting

Tom and Joan Moody were on Pidertupo Island 25 years ago when a group of indians surrounded their place and demanded gasoline. Apparently this group had just come from Quigalatupo where they had planned to kill another American who lived alone and burn his house down.

Posible 350 Death Caused by Chemicals

Last October a national epidemic alert was issued when people were dying of an unexplained ailment that attacked the renal system and caused neurological damage. Twelve bodies have been dug up to test for diethylene glycol poisoning a cheaper ingredient put in cough syrup.

Panama Keeps 49 Percent

Suez, a French utility's energy unit has acquired fifty-one percent of the Panama based plant Bahia Las Minas Corp from the Ashmore Group. This in effect gives Suez controlling interest in the plant and leaves Panama government with only 49 percent.

Philosophical Discussions at Camp Out

Sarati River, a slow moving stream during dry the dry season is the home of a camp for Girl Scouts. Younger scouts sleep in cabins while older scouts use Tents. This area hosts international scout gatherings where they learn both philisophical and practical lessons.

Daily newspapers in Panama seem to dwell on the crimes in Colombia and because of this are accused of helping to corrupt Colombia. Transactions in the Colon Free Zone are being used to create false records and launder money and evade taxes.

A friend had been raving about S'cena, a new restaurant. In his Baseball Cap and Khaki Shorts he expected to get turned away but was pleasantly surprised.
