Panama announces 0.4% of GDP budget surplus in 2008
02/15/09 20:30
The Panamanian government is proud to announce that it managed to get a budget surplus of $97.8 million, or 0.4% of the country's GDP. This is much lower compared to the 3.5% surplus in 2007, but this is still highly commendable given the economic problems of 2008.
Higher spending was attributed as the main reason for the lower surplus last year.
